Conceptually the layout of this book is good and the HTML5 and CSS parts are decent, but in reality unless you are already an expert programmer in another language or you already think you know JavaScript this book is quite frustrating. I wouldn't say its for beginners, I have been doing SQL for a few years and taking care of our website, and thought I would be able to learn JavaScript to modernize it. The book doesn't flow well, it needs more editing, none of the code has any comments to help explain what's going on. The video streaming from the publisher is poor, and the author does a lot of cutting and pasting and basically says voila there you go, end of lesson. Everybody learns different, but this wasn't for me.

It is a decent book but I did not like the flow of information. Although I think this is more a personal choice than a problem with the book.

I don't usually write reviews on my purchases, but this book is just *that* good. It's the only book you need to more or less master HTML5, JS and jQuery and gives youeverything you need to get started on some real projects and to have a thorough understanding of html5, Javascript and Jquery fundamentals.I can now read more advanced topic and have a better understand of what is going on.There have been concepts in HTML5 that I truly struggled with as a beginner. This books makes it MUCH more comprehensible than some advance books.I've studied Javascript in classes and on my own with other resources, and this book is definitely one of the best, clearest resources for understanding the language. It covers all the core elements clearly, and gradually adds more layers to what's being taught This book targets a reader of truly any level and whether you're new to web design entirely or just trying to expand your skills, you'll find that this book is never too dense or boring. The author starts with the simple stuff for those who need to learn the basics, but it's written in a way that even someone with a little experience will probably still enjoy skimming over the first few chapters.
